Jo Lillywhite is a contemporary British landscape artist based in Oxfordshire. She creates colourful semi-abstract paintings inspired by the woods, fields and changing seasons of the Chilterns countryside and beyond.

Each painting is designed to draw the viewer into the scene, creating a connection with nature and a unique, colourful focal point that adds mood, atmosphere and joy to any room.

Meet the Artist

The artist, Jo Lillywhite in front of her painting Autumn Tunnel Woods. An abstract painting of a tunnel of trees in Autumn colours

Hi, I’m Jo Lillywhite

Using vibrant layers of paint, I create colourful landscapes that celebrate light, depth and atmosphere. Rather than simply painting what I see, I use colour to capture how a place feels – whether it’s the calm of a woodland walk, the warmth of summer sun or the moment the seasons are changing into the next episode of the year.

My hope is that every painting invites you to imagine yourself in the landscape and bring a little of the joy and tranquility of nature into your home.

Whether you’re looking for an original painting, a fine art print or simply enjoy exploring the countryside through art, I’m delighted you’ve found my work.

Shortlisted for Hisense VIDAA Art Competition

“I was shortlisted in 2026 in this competition to have artwork featured on Hisense Canvas TV’s. From hundreds of entries, I made the final 20, judged by Kate Bryan from Landscape Artist of the Year. It was a real honour to have ‘Woodland Rays’ acknowledged”
