Jo Lillywhite is a contemporary British landscape artist based in Oxfordshire. She creates colourful semi-abstract paintings inspired by the woods, fields and changing seasons of the Chilterns countryside and beyond.
Each painting is designed to draw the viewer into the scene, creating a connection with nature and a unique, colourful focal point that adds mood, atmosphere and joy to any room. Original paintings can be purchased or you can commission your own unique piece

A selection of woodland paintings brings nature into this town centre cafe. On now until 7th October.
Using vibrant layers of paint, I create colourful landscapes that celebrate light, depth and atmosphere.
Rather than simply painting what I see, I use colour and form to re-imagine the landscape and make something bold and different. Often semi-abstract, sometimes more representational, but always colourful and striking.
My hope is that every painting invites you to connect with the landscape and bring joy into your space.

The way Jo captures the light and shadows in her landscapes is truly magnificent. The painting on our wall draws me in to the scene every time I see it, and brings me pleasure and calm every time I catch sight of her beautiful painting. Jo created a bespoke piece of art from concept to finished article! We are delighted with the result and her attentiveness to our requirements ending in the perfect result. At each stage of the process she kept me updated with progress pictures and gave me the opportunity to have input on the overall design, colour profiles and details. The picture ended up emulating a window in to our garden from the front of the house and met the brief exceptionally. She is so talented but equally really engaged in delivering what you want. I now would like more of her amazing work round my house!

We are absolutely in love with Jo’s art. Her work captures perfectly the magic of the nature. Waking up to my favourite bit of the woods painted in my most liked colours sets the morning mood just right. Jo pays a great attention to her models when it comes to portraits. She likes to know more about owners and their pets before starting work and it shows in her care to details and end effect of her portraits is breath taking. Jo is very professional.
